Autistic Children Research Act - Provides, under the Public Health Service Act, for the Director of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development to: (1) plan and develop a coordinated autism research program; (2) collect, analyze, and disseminate all data useful in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of autism; and (3) establish comprehensive, coordinated diagnostic and evaluation procedures for early detection guidance for autistic children.

Authorizes appropriations of such sums as are necessary to carry out these provisions. Authorizes $500,000 for fiscal year 1974 and $5,000,000 per year for fiscal years 1975-1978 for loans and grants to any public or private nonprofit entity operating a center with education programs for autistic children.

Defines, for the purpose of this Act, the term "autistic."
