Prohibits the insurance of mortgages for such nursing homes or intermediate care facilities unless the facilities meet the appropriate requirements of the Life Safety Code of the National Fire Protection Association.

Sets limits on insured loans for fire safety equipment at $50,000 maximum, and requires compliance with such other terms and conditions as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development may prescribe. (Amends 12 U. S. C. 1715 (w)
